PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Several members of the Boston Red Sox visited Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence Thursday.

Players Mark Melancon, Ryan Kalish and Chris Carpenter, Wally the Green Monster, and some of the front office staff stopped by to spread cheer and goodwill.

The stop was one of several planned for the team's 3-day, 6-state Red Sox Holiday Road Trip . The team packed two caravans with members of the team and presents and traveled around New England.

This project is part of the team's 100 Acts of Kindness campaign that highlights and supports work done by charitable institutions during the 100th anniversary season of Fenway Park.
