PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Providence woman has been taken to Rhode Island Hospital after a fire at her home Thursday morning.

Flames broke out at about 6:30 a.m. in her third-floor apartment on John Street, in the city's East Side.

Emergency crews found the 60-year-old woman unconscious and carried her out of the home. She was then transported from the scene to be treated for smoke inhalation.

There was one person on each of the other two floors at the time of the fire, both of which made it out safely.

Investigators are now working to pinpoint the cause of the fire.
