RI'ers urged to report election fraud

U.S. Attorney, FBI set-up election fraud hotlines

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Federal authorities are urging Rhode Islanders to be vigilant in reporting allegations of fraud at the polls this Election Day.

U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha announced Monday that his office and the FBI's Rhode Island field office will lead efforts to crack down on local voter fraud complaints.

The following hotlines will be available to report possible election fraud or suspected voting rights abuses:

  • U.S. Attorney's Office: (401) 709-5068
  • FBI: (401) 272-8310

Complaints about ballot access problems or discrimination can be made to the Civil Rights Division's Voting Section in Washington at 1-800-253-3931 or (202) 307-2767.
