PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - You won't be shelling out as much cash when paying your gas bill soon, if you have National Grid service in Rhode Island.
The Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission just approved new rates for National Grid's natural gas customers, according to a release from the utility.
The average residential customer will save 8.2 percent, or about $113 over the next twelve months -- based on an annual usage of 922 therms.
The utility cites higher reserves of natural gas for the change.
The new rates take effect Nov. 1.
