Gas prices continue unpleasant climb

Now averaging $3.81 per gallon in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Gas prices continue to creep back toward the four dollar mark in Rhode Island.

According to the August 20th AAA survey, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded climbed six cents over the last week, from $3.75 to $3.81.

Gas prices have now jumped by 19 cents over the last month.

Rhode Island's average gas price is nine cents above the national average of $3.72, and ten cents higher than Rhode Island's average price this time last year.
