Downtown ice rink opens for the season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- 'Tis the season for Rhode Islanders to lace up their skates and hit the ice in Downtown Providence.

The Bank of America City Center Skating Rink at Kennedy Plaza officially opened for the 2012-2013 season on Wednesday.

The rink is offering the same admission and skate rental prices as it has for the last eight years: General admission is $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and children under 12; ice skate rentals are $4.

The rink will be open for skating on Thanksgiving Day from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., before normal hours of operation begin on Friday, November 23.

The Bank of America City Center Skating Rink will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends, through March 3, 2013.
