DOH: recalled sprouts sold in RI

No reports of illness

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Sprouts that may be contaminated with listeria were sold in Rhode Island, the Department of Health said Friday.

The FDA has issued a recall of the sprouts distributed by Specialty Farms and Nature's Promise. They include the following:

  • Specialty Farms Organic Alfalfa Sprouts Blend UPC 509800108
  • Specialty Farms Organic Sprout Salad UPC 8192400024
  • Nature’s Promise 4-ounce Organic Alfalfa Sprouts UPC 8826704741
  • Nature’s Promise 8-ounce Organic Alfalfa Sprouts UPC 8826704102
  • Nature’s Promise 4-ounce Organic Zesty Sprouts UPC 8826703903

The recalled sprouts have sell-by dates of August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The DOH said the sprouts were sold at Stop & Shop stores across Rhode Island. However, no illnesses have been reported,
