PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The Health Dept. has rejected all 15 of the compassion center registration applications it received.
The state is restarting the application process to issue licenses for up to three medical marijuana centers.
9 applicants didn't meet the minimum scoring requirements. Others weren't nonprofit groups, which is required.
Department head David Gifford says they all exceeded the 25-page limit on their applications.
He says they're frustrated to have to start over, but they've learned from the process and expect to restart it in October.
