PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A Providence College basketball player was arrested Saturday night on misdemeanor charges, but he remains on the team.

Kadeem Batts , a redshirt freshman, faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and failure to leave the premises. Police arrested him late Saturday night outside a downtown Providence nightclub.

Arthur Parks, spokesperson for the athletics department, said Batts is still a member of the team. He is the third PC basketball player arrested in recent months.

In April, fellow PC freshmen Johnny Lacy and James Still were arrested on charges of felony assault on another PC student. They're due in court in September to face those charges.

In May, Jamine Peterson was dismissed from the team for violating team rules following an incident involving a recruit.
