PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- The St. Baldrick’s Foundation awarded a one-year infrastructure grant of $49,782 to Rhode Island Hospital on Wednesday.
Since RI Hospital is affiliated with Hasbro Children’s Hospital, the grant will provide resources enabling them to conduct more research and enroll more children in clinical trials.
“We will ask adolescent cancer survivors to be part of a group of young survivors who will answer questions about their health and health behaviors,” said Cindy Schwartz, M.D. in a statement. “This infrastructure grant will support the efforts of our design team to design a database and to send out questionnaires about health and behaviors to teen and pre-teens in Rhode Island.”
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation has awarded more than $103 million to support childhood cancer research since 2005.
