PROVIDENCE, R.I (WPRI) - A popular road race raised thousands of dollars in grants for dozens of local charities.

The CVS Caremark Downtown 5K held a special awards dinner Thursday night to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the race and the company's 13th year as title sponsor.

More than $63,000 in grants were presented to 50 youth-based non-profit groups.
