Home invasion victim in good condition

Was stabbed multiple times Sunday night

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A home invasion victim is still recovering at Rhode Island hospital after being stabbed multiple times in his own home.

Jamie Vasquez, 49, was assaulted and violently attacked on Sunday night during a home invasion and attempted robbery. He was rushed to the hospital the night of the incident, and he as of 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, he remained at Rhode Island Hospital in good condition.

Vasquez's 71-year-old father and younger sister and another family member were also attacked during the invasion. Vasquez and his father were the only two who required medical attention.

The victims told the police two Hispanic gunman forced their way into their home and took off empty-handed.

At last check, no arrests have been made.
