Eyewitness News Blood Drive August 13

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Every day the Rhode Island Blood Center needs to collect 280 pins of life-saving blood. However, during the summer months the demand for blood remains high while the supply declines.

Now you can help save a life by donating blood on Monday, August 13 at the WPRI 12/FOX Providence studios in East Providence.

The blood drive is happening at 25 Catamore Blvd. from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.

While you're there, you can spin the wheel for cool prizes from The Rhode Show and The Rhode Island Blood Center.

All presenting donors will receive Ronzio Pizza, Newport Creamery ice cream and a free Wendy's Artisan Egg Sandwich Combo.

You can also register to win a pair of tickets to see American Idol at the Dunkin Donuts Center on August 26 from the Cumulus radio stations.
