SWANSEA, Mass. (WPRI) - An investigation is underway after a fire at the Swansea mall.

Flames broke out shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday, but was quickly knocked down.

Fire officials said most of the damage was confined to a nail salon where the fire started.

"It appears that they poured a drain cleaner down there, didn't undo the clog, melted the plastic PVC piping, got the towels going. So, that was what it was," said Chief Peter Burke of the Swansea Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.
