REHOBOTH, MASS. (WPRI) -- A Pawtucket man faces several charges after allegedly driving drunk and leading police on a chase Saturday morning.
Rehoboth Police say an officer spotted 19 year-old Joseph Coderre speeding on Route 44 around 3 a.m. Saturday. The officer clocked Coderre at over 80 miles and hour in a 50 mile an hour zone and gave chase.
Coderre refused to stop and led the officer on a pursuit into Dighton; police say Coderre tried to lose the pursuing officer by pulling behind a liquor store at 2035 Winthrop Street in Dighton.
Coderre was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, speeding, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and refusing to stop for a police officer.
He was released on $240 cash bail and is due back in court Tuesday.
