FR Mayor addresses state of the city

FALL RIVER, MASS. (WPRI) - Fall River Mayor William Flanagan outlined his plan for city in his second State of the City address.

The mayor said the city is strong and moving in the right direction but he's still focusing on creating rail service from Boston to Fall River.

Flanagan said, "That's a $1.8 billion project that will create 3,800 new jobs and over a half a billion dollars in investment each year, statewide. This project is essential to unlocking economic opportunity in Fall River."

The mayor also said he plans to continue working on other issues including homelessness and drug addiction in order to improve the quality of life in the city.
