SWANSEA, Mass. (WPRI) -- Swansea police are investigating an "apparent homicide" Saturday morning.

Officers were dispatched to a home at 500 Ocean Grove Avenue around 5:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call.  Once they arrived they found a woman dead inside the home, identified as 51-year-old Lisa Mello of Swansea.

According to the Medical Examiner's office, after conducting an autopsy on the victim it has determined they will need to conduct further tests, including a toxicology screening, before they can rule on the the cause and manner of her death.

Swansea police officers blocked access to the neighborhood for several hours as Swansea and Massachusetts State Police detectives worked at the scene.

A spokesman for Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter said so far there have been no arrests.
