DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) -- Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a Dartmouth burglary.

Daniel DaCosta, 44, was apprehended Wednesday after he allegedly broke into a home on Whiteweed Drive.

The resident entered her house at about 1:30 p.m. to find an intruder with a pillowcase full of stolen items. The man immediately fled the home and was caught minutes later in a wooded area nearby.

Officers were able to recover the stolen goods, and the resident was unharmed in the incident, which remains under investigation.

DaCosta is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime, placing a person in fear, larceny over $250 and destruction of property.
