FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WPRI) -- The Fairhaven Fire Dept. responded to an incident on Washington Street Tuesday night.

A Fairhaven home owned by Bob & Donna Westgame reportedly set fire around 9 p.m. The homeowners experienced a power outage and heard crackling in the walls, and, upon arrival, fire crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the home.

Firefighters contained the flames in around an hour, but the house sustained an estimated $200,000 in damage, according to Department spokesman Wayne Oliveria.

Two adults and two pet dogs were able to escape the house without injury.
