Man stabbed in Providence home invasion

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Providence police are investigating a late-night home invasion in which a man was stabbed multiple times and three of his family members were assaulted.

Police confirm the incident occurred just after 11 p.m.. Sunday on Paul Street. Two men entered the residence seeking money.

Jamie Vasquez, 49, was stabbed several times, while his 71-year-old father reported being assaulted in bed, his sister said she was grabbed by her hair, and a third was assaulted in the shower.

Vasquez and his father were taken to the hospital for treatment. There's no word on their conditions at this time.

According to police, no arrests have been made in the case, but they say the two suspects are believed to be two Hispanic males.
