BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ (WPRI) – Two Rhode Island State Police Troopers arrested a New Jersey man while on detail helping the storm-battered area recover from Hurricane Sandy’s impact.
On Wednesday, November 14, Troopers Conor O’Donnell and Erik Jensen stopped a vehicle for speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Troopers said they detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and also observed the handle of a hunting knife sticking out from under the driver’s seat.
The troopers found a small bag of marijuana on the suspect, Jamill Tucker, and an additional 22 bags of marijuana inside his car.
Tucker was placed under arrest and transported to the Brick Police station.
The Brick Township Police Department tells Eyewitness News that Troopers O’Donnell and Jensen, “Did a tremendous job and their professionalism was evident.”
The troopers were in town along with state troopers from Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Trooper O’Donnell is the son of Rhode Island State Police Superintendent Col. Steven O’Donnell.
