TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) -- A Rehoboth woman, accused of driving drunk with her 3-year-old grandchild in the car, pleaded not guilty Monday morning during her arraignment in Taunton District Court.

Geraldine Shallcross, 70, is charged with operating under the influence and operating to endanger.

Rehoboth police said they pulled over Shallcross Sunday evening on Wilmarth Bridge Rd. After a brief investigation, they arrested the grandmother on suspicion of drunk driving.

The child was released to the custody of her aunt, police said.

Following the arraignment, Shallcross was released on personal recognizance and ordered not to drive with children.

While leaving court, Shallcross had no comment for Eyewitness News.

It is unknown if Shallcross is the child's primary caregiver.

She is due back in court Aug. 20.
