PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A man suspected of being drunk behind the wheel when his passenger jumped from his car to her death has pleaded not guilty to DUI.
48-year-old Joseph Aloisio of Cranston was arraigned in Providence District Court Friday on charges that he was driving under the influence and refused a chemical test, following the January 28th accident that claimed the life of 21-year-old Erica Moul of Smithfield.
Police say Aloisio was driving on Route 95 in Providence when Moul jumped out of the moving car and died.
Aloisio was released on $1,000 personal recognizance following his arraignment, and ordered to return to court on February 24th for a pre-trial hearing.
