COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) -- Two Coventry men were arrested Monday morning for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of copper.
Coventry police observed a suspicious vehicle operating on Johnsons Blvd. earlier this month. Upon further investigation, the police identified the owner of this vehicle to be Greg Waldron, 33.
Police found copper coils stolen from cell phone towers in East Providence located in the trunk of Waldron's car. He was arrested for possession of the stolen items, possession of burglary tools, and possession of heroin. He was arraigned and held as a violator.
After executing a search warrant on Waldron's house, detectives recovered over $50,000 worth of copper coils and piping. They also arrested another suspect, Joshua Fleming, 32, and charged him with receiving stolen goods.
The Coventry Police Dept. will continue investigating this case.
