PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - An Anheuser-Busch beer distributor in Rhode Island is helping out a Connecticut company where an employee last week killed eight people and then fatally shot himself.
McLaughlin & Moran is helping Hartford Distributors, a beer distribution company in Manchester, Conn., with deliveries.
The shootings happened after the gunman, Omar Thornton, was shown video evidence of him stealing beer and was asked to resign. The company reopened its offices and warehouses on Wednesday, eight days after the rampage.
Terence Moran, the president of McLaughlin & Moran, tells The Providence Journal that other Anheuser-Busch distributors are also assisting. He says he's just trying to help business at Hartford Distributors return to normal.
