PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Cars are being loaded with more safety features than ever before.

Car experts say some new vehicles can save lives.

They can park, sense when drivers are falling asleep and can adapt to changing weather. Some are also equipped with blind spot technology that can see a car before you do.

"It has a number of technological features that are sensors that will enable you to avoid crashes," said Jack Perkins, Vice President, New Car Dealers Association.

Car manufacturers say these new safety features shouldn't replace common sense but will be there in case of an emergency.
