NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) - The Target 12 Investigators have uncovered new information on the North Smithfield High School teacher accused of sexting students.
A state police affidavit revealed exactly what Stephen Demeo's text messages allegedly said, laying out the foundation for a search of his home.
According to documents obtained by Target 12, Demeo's unknown, alleged 16 year-old victim texted him the following message to start the November 4th conversation.
"I have a question about the sexual stuff that happened between us. . ."
She later refers to a naked picture Demeo is accused to transmitting. I don't like talking about this topic, Demeo answers, It makes me nervous that you brought it up.
According to the documents, Demeo writes that he's not in the habit of sending naked pictures of himself to various people.
The student replies, "Neither am I, the only time I came close was when you asked for them."
During the texting back and forth, the student writes that she is wondering if Demeo sent the pictures to another student, writing, "I just felt unimportant if you sent them to more people than just me."
"If that's the case, you should feel important," Demeo replies.
There's also new information on an evidence recovery log. A long list of items including thumb drives and iPods that store pictures that were confiscated from Demeo's home.
Also a camcorder, a bag of assorted letters, assorted tapes and a bag of marijuana.
Demeo also faces possession of marijuana and child pornography charges. The suspended teacher is due back in court in January.
