PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- WPRI's parent company is calling on ambitious students to apply for their annual scholarship program.

LIN Media, which has been awarding two-year scholarships to students since 1998, announced this week that they are accepting applications for their Minority Scholarship and Training Program. They will eventually award two scholarships/internship opportunities: One to a student specializing in broadcast television, and one to a student specializing in digital media.

Each student will receive a two-year scholarship worth up to $10,000 per year, which can be used for textbooks, tuition, room & board or other relevant fees. LIN will also provide the scholarship recipients with hands-on training through a paid internship position at one of its television stations around the country.

Applications will be accepted through March 20, 2013.
