Rhode Show 5th co-host search kicks off

Are you ready to kick start your television career? Think you’ve got what it takes to be Rhode Island’s newest on-air personality? The Rhode Show on WPRI 12 is looking for you! Our 5th annual search is on for the next Rhode Show co-host!

If you’d like to try to win the opportunity of a lifetime - a job on TV for one year - you’re invited to audition in one of two ways. A live casting call audition will be held at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Applicants can also submit an audition video on WPRI.com as part of a separate online audition process.

The ideal co-host should be upbeat, adventurous, hard-working, and ready to have fun. Candidates should also be new media savvy (proficient with social media, blogging, texting, uploading video, shooting video and still pictures) as well as ready to engage with our audience on multiple digital platforms. All entrants must be at least 21 years of age. Contest subject to rules available at WPRI.com.

“The Rhode Show Search for a Star in an incredible opportunity,” says Susan Tracy-Durant, Director of Creative Services for WPRI/WNAC. “We’ve seen so many talented individuals in our past casting calls, and we’re very excited to see who’ll try out this year.”

Live casting call auditions are limited to the first 100 people.  The live casting call auditions will be managed by a “number-in-line” system. Numbers will be given out on a first come, first served basis. A number will be issued only when a completed application and other required documents are presented. Each potential contestant will have up to two minutes in front of a panel of judges as well as a brief on camera interview.  Pre-registration is available online to save time and to be prepared the day of the live casting call.

Can’t make the live casting call but still want to audition? Make a video (between 1 to 3 minutes) and submit it on WPRI.com .
