WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Island native DJ Pauly D made an appearance on Monday at Haxton's Liquors in Warwick. He met fans and signed autographs all while promoting his newest product and The Rhode Show was there to capture the excitement.
Known for his signature lines and the blowout haircut, ‘Jersey Shore’ star DJ Pauly D is making himself known for something new.
"REMIX is amazing and it's a perfect, perfect fit for me because that's what I do. I remix records and now I’m remixing a drink,” Pauly D said.
REMIX cocktails are premixed and very important to pregame rituals.
"We pregame hard, me and my friends, so we always have to go get the mixes, you have to get the vodka and everything like that, but not anymore. All you have to do is get your remix and that's it. You're ready to go,” said Pauly D.
REMIX cocktails come in four flavors: Oye Mojito, Yeah Yumberry, Strawberry Holla-peno, and Starfruit. Pauly D calls the drinks “R.T.D.: Ready to drink".
But before Pauly D made it into Haxton's at 4 o’clock, fans were lining up. Some even spent all afternoon waiting to catch a glimpse of the star. They had their fists pumping, bottles in hand ready to be signed, and excited to see their hometown hottie.
Seeing local fans meant a lot to the celeb.
"Coming home, nothing beats it cause it's my friends and my family. Everywhere else is cool too, I smash it, but it's all strangers you know. Now I know all these people so it's cool,” he said.
Personalized autographs and photo opportunities for all!
"It's been a blessing for me. It's been a blessing for my DJ career, I’m able to do what I do best. DJ'ing all over the world and I’m just having fun with it. I'm in a different state every single night doing what I love to do. And I really couldn't be happier,” said DJ Pauly D.
For best friend, and ‘The Pauly D Project’ costar, Jerry Gialanella, returning home to Rhode Island has been well received.
"We come back home, we come back to Rhode Island, he hangs out with his family. I'm originally from New Jersey, I went to school out here, so I don't have my family out here so we're just homebodies literally just catching up on TV and doing nothing much and living out of suitcases four or five days a week,” said Gialanella.
Seeing Pauly go from hometown to Hollywood has been quite the journey. "I’m definitely blessed to have some opportunities arise and try to capitalize on all that but at the same time I transition into more of an operational guy for him and just be there for as much as I can; Helping him out day to day” said Gialanella.
But even with his celeb status, DJ Pauly D still enjoys the comforts of home.
"I miss coffee milk, I miss Caserta's pizza, Twin Oaks, I mean we've got the best food in the world in Rhode Island,” he said.
With two hit shows, his name is lights, and now, a brand new premixed cocktail, Pauly D continues to work towards expanding his career.
"I’m currently working on an album right now so I'm working in the studio right now with 50 Cent and everybody so just being able to work with the artists has been amazing to me so I’d like to continue that."
REMIX cocktails are now available in liquor stores across the state.
