(FOX Providence) - To jump start a career that will showcase your technical and creative skills, look no further than New England Institute of Technology.
The halls and classrooms of New Englad Institute of Technology are filled with students eager to expand their careers in courses like graphics, multimedia and web design.
"In the graphic design track, we teach classes in desk top publishing, digital pre-press and package design. In the multimedia track, we focus more on video editing, animation and advanced web page design using flash," said John Syzmkowicz, Assitant Professor at New England Institute of Technology .
New England Institute of Technology is constantly changing and adapting their curriculum to stay up to date with new media that arises.
"One of the things we're currently looking at is the use of social media in the marketplace that's getting stronger and stronger. So that's a great example of one of the things we're currently tracking, to see if we can integrate into our current curriculum."
The learning environment of future web and graphic designers is full of state of the art equipment.
"We've always stayed up to date on our software, up to date with our computers, we have a large format printer we use for doing the portfolios. Every lab is equipped with scanners and printers," said Syzmkowicz.
Programs and software are all designed to let the students create works of art.
"So the instructor will lecture for a period of time, and then you really get your hands into the technology, whether it be software or utilizing different equipment."
Obtaining a degree from New England Institute of Technology allows students to work hands on, gaining as much real world experience as possible, all in just 18 months.
