(FOX Providence) - Have you ever dreamed of going on an African Safari? Lisa Bruce, a AAA member, just came back from a 10 day trip to Africa, and she's joined The Rhode Show to talk about her travels.

"It was the most amazing destination I've ever been. Game drives, searching for the big five, watching the migration of the animals. It was just an incredible sight," said Lisa.

Do you stay in a hotel or a camp when on an African safari?

"Actually, both. I prefer the tented camps. These are luxury tented camps with mahogany floors, ceiling fans, double sinks. Our wake-up call was a staff member coming to our tent, waking us up with coffee, tea and biscuits. We slept with the animals, it was amazing."

What is the food like in Africa?

"The food was so delicious. The freshest fruits and vegetables, and the soups were actually my favorite. It was phenomenal," said Lisa.

Part of your trip was to give back to the community, what was that like?

"That was the most rewarding. Through the Collette Foundation , they supplied us with 70 backpacks for the children. The backpacks were filled with gym uniforms, shorts, t-shirts and sneakers. Their government doesn't allow the children to participate in gym without a gym uniform. It was so cute just looking at the children staring down at their feet, looking down at their brand new sneakers. It was the most rewarding."

How can I plan an African safari?

"Just call your local AAA representative and let them know you want to go on the 10-day African safari."
