(FOX Providence) - Many moms may use a timeout method as discipline for kids, as a way to have them cool or of calm down. But, it actually sounds like something a lot of mothers could use.

"Being a mom is the most important job you'll ever have. Whether you work for somebody or not that's the most important job," said Tracy Martin-Turgeon of The Children's Workshop.

For mothers to actually see how much they have on their plate, it's important to write a list of everything they do during the day.

"But look in that list and see is there time for me. And if the answer is no. Now you need to make another list. Make another list of things you like to do. It could be stuff that spends money, or stuff that doesn't cost money."

OK moms, so you already know that you'd like to make time to do some things you enjoy. But how? The answer is simple, turn to those around you.

"Access the children, your spouse, parents, grandparents. Any little time can you help me out here. And you need to detox. Parents need that."

To ease your way in to making time for you, start off simple. And think about what you like to do.

"I like to go for a walk with me and my family. Or just me alone. I want to have tea on the deck when the sun's coming up with nobody around. I've been dying to read that book and I just can't find the time," said Martin-Turgeon.

Of course moms would like to splurge on ourselves every once in awhile, although it might not happen that often. In celebration of this year's Mother's Day, go ahead and treat yourself. And with these spa tips, you can do them right at home.

"You can pick up an avocado, mash it up, wash your face, put it on your face. That should take about 20 minutes on your face. While that's on your face, take some thyme or some mint or some kind of herb, put it in some cheese cloth, boil some water and seep it. Run a bath."

One time-out tip moms should definitely remember to do daily, is get enough rest. That sleep is what will keep you going throughout the week.

"The main thing is to look for stuff for you, make sure you get 7-8 hours of sleep, call a friend watch a comedy, laugh and take that time out for you because you deserve it."
