Rent premieres at local theater

(FOX Providence) - Rent is about to take the stage at The Court House Center for the Arts in West Kingston . Executive Producer Russ Maitland and Music Director Alex Tirell joined The Rhode Show to talk more about this local production.

About Rent:

Based on Puccini's La Bohème, Rent is a story of love and loyalty between starving artists in New York's East Village. AIDS and both its physical and emotional complications pervade their lives. Rent swept all the major theatre awards of 1996 including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the Obie Award, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, four Tony Awards and three Drama Desk Awards.
