(FOX Providence) - A stage performance that's been called a "big fat musical" is hitting the stage in South County. The Broadway musical is being adapted to a local stage and is opening this weekend at Courthouse Center for the Arts .
Executive and Artistic Director, Russ Maitland, and actor Kendra Alati, joined The Rhode Show to give a preview look at the production.
Kendra, who has a starring role, performed a song called "Good Morning Baltimore" for The Rhode Show.
About Hairspray:
In 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, plump teenager Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show.
