PROVIDENCE, R.I. (FOX Providence) - The 'March Madness ' excitement is far from over. Friday night, The Rhode Show is teaming up with Dunkin' Donuts to sponsor a special " Slam Dunk WaterFire" .
WaterFire is lighting up at the request of the NCAA , Providence and the state to showcase one of the wonders of Rhode Island.
"I'm excited that visitors from all over the country will have the opportunity to experience the magnificent beauty of WaterFire while they're in Providence for the basketball tournament, thanks to Dunkin' Donuts' generous support," said Mayor David N. Cicilline. "In addition to showcasing our beautiful city, the tournament will also bring hundreds of people to our hotels and restaurants and fuel our economy."
The Slam Dunk WaterFire lighting is at 7:30 p.m. at Waterplace Park. Fires will remain lit until 11:00 p.m.
