Westerly runner breaks Mass. record

(WPRI) - A new Massachusetts state record was set yesterday by Westerly's Andrew Springer.

Springer won the 1 Mile race at the Nike Indoor Nationals in Boston. He ran the mile in a time of 4 minutes, 8 seconds.

Besides being a record in Massachusetts, it's the fastest mile time run in the United States this year.
