Morrell wins third state golf title

POINT JUDITH, R.I. (WPRI) - North Kingstown's Samantha Morrell won the Girls' High School State Golf Tournament for the third time in Point Judith Monday.
Morrell shot a 76 which was good enough for a three-shot win.
She becomes the first girl to win three state titles since Lauren Grezebien. The only girl to win four straight titles was North Kingstown's Dara Rittman in the early 90s.
La Salle's Juliet Vongphomay took second in the event.
