(FOX Providence) - It's getting closer and closer to the holidays, and as you decorate your homes and buy gifts for you loved ones, try to keep in mind those who won't be receiving gifts this year.

NiRoPe from Cardi's Furniture joined The Rhode Show to tell how you can help those less fortunate this year by participating in the annual Toys for Tots Drive.

Cardi's Furniture has been collecting toys for the annual fundraiser for 23 years.

"All the Citadel stations, Clear Channel, and all of our people are working very hard. The listeners, we thank you, they've done a great job. Although we have a lot of toys, there's a larger need than normal, we all know that," said Nick Cardi.

What toys are actually needed?

"We could use new, or like-new, and un-wrapped. Meaning, not taken out of the box, but we don't want any Christmas wrapping around it.  Because they need to know what it is, to make sure it gets to the appropriate child," added Ron Cardi.

No toy is off limits. Stuffed animals are allowed to be given as toys, too.

"We've gotten some great bikes, CDs, DVDs all kinds of stuff. Everyone in our area is so generous, and it's been wonderful. But, the need is a little bit increased this year, so we do need some help," said Pete Cardi.

Toys can be dropped off at any Cardi's Furniture location up until December 23rd.
