RI stores offering tax-free savings too

(FOX Providence) - There are tax free savings happening at Cardi’s Furniture this weekend!

Nick, Ron & Pete Cardi, joined the Rhode Show to talk more about some of the big savings in store for you!

The Rhode Show: Nick, you guys actually have a great deal running now to offer people even more value, tell us about it.

Nick Cardi: For today, tomorrow and Friday only we're offering 7% off each item you purchase. It's greater savings than the 6.25% you’ll get on the weekend. Plus, we’ll give you 20% of your qualifying purchase as an in-store credit to use in November. For example, if you were to come in and purchase $2,000 in merchandise, you’ll save $140 to start. You will then receive a $400 in store credit so you’re really getting $540 in value!! On Saturday and Sunday you’ll only be saving 6.25%.

The Rhode Show: Wow, that’s such a great deal! Ron, what are some of the things people are looking for this time of year?

Ron Cardi: We’ve just received a huge shipment of artwork, nautical accessories, and much more. And since it's back to school season it is time for new youth bedroom sets. Students are going to local colleges and many may need a new mattress. If you’ve got a student that’s going to college and you’re transforming their room into either a guest room, media room or office, we’ve got all the right stuff to make that transformation.

The Rhode Show: Wow, and if people don’t make it in to the store before Saturday, they can still take advantage of the tax free weekend at the Massachusetts stores and your Rhode Island stores and Pete Cardi’s played a role in the signing of that into law. Tell us about that.

Pete Cardi: That’s right; we had a very exciting day in our Braintree store this past Thursday. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick came with about 30 state officials to sign the tax free day legislation into law. So on Saturday and Sunday, come in, make your purchase tax free in Massachusetts, and for our Rhode Island and Connecticut neighbors, we’ll be offering a discount equal to the savings which is 6.25%. It was a great event and this weekend is going to be a lot of fun in our stores!
