Cardis, Summer Comedy Series partner up

(FOX Providence) - Some great acts are coming to The Newport Summer Comedy Series as well as some great other events that Cardi’s Furniture is involved with.

Joe Rocco of Rocjo Productions, along with NiRoPe, of Cardi's Furniture , joined The Rhode Show to talk about the partnership between the Summer Comedy Series and Cardis.

"It’s been years in the making and believe me when I say, there’s no better place to see a nationally recognized comedian, than on the waterfront at the Newport Yachting Center. We’ve been partnered with Joe for over 10 years, and we’ve seen some incredible acts over that time. And the venue, The Newport Yachting Center is outstanding. It’s right in the heart of Newport, inside there’s great food and drinks, come early and have a seat in the courtyard, then make your way into the tent for the show. Thursday night, Bob Saget will be on-stage in Newport, and it's not his first time here in the City by the Sea.

"Not the Bob Saget you remember from Full House. It's more of an adult kind of show," said Rocco.

There are lots of seats still available to see Saget sing and tell jokes.

"Thanks to guys like Cardi's and all of our sponsors, we just keep on chugging. These comedians don't come cheap. It'll be a lot of fun, and a lot of laughs," continued Rocco.

Another great summer event that is happening is Circus Smirkus in Washington County .

"Circus Smirkus will raise the big top on July 25 and 26 at The Washington County Fairgrounds. Two shows each day, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Circus Smirkus is the only American youth circus to travel “under canvas;” that is, the only youth circus to put on a full-season tour under its own big top. It's a colorful, one-ring, European-made circus tent. The touring company consists of about 80 people including the performers and coaches, counselors, costumers, tech crew, circus chefs and a live circus band. Every summer, a company of 30 talented Circus Smirkus troupers, ages 10 to 18 put on this exciting all ages show and it’s truly inspiring for children as they see exactly what kids can do, when they work hard and follow their dreams," said Ron Cardi.

And that's not the only thing Cardi's is excited about this summer. They're actually celebrating Christmas in July.
