(FOX Providence) - NiRoPe from Cardi's Furniture joined The Rhode Show to talk about the Toys for Tots drive and more.
"28 years we’ve been doing these and once again we’ve been able to supply the U.S. Marines and other local agencies with great toys and gifts thanks to the very generous donations by our customers. The U.S. Marines have made over seven trips to our facilities to pick up the toys and get them out locally, and it amazes us every year, the generosity of our customers We had great support from The Rhode Show, FOX Providence, WPRI, Cat Country 98.1, B101, 94 HJY, Coast 93.3, WHJJ, New England Pest Control and Rhody Trucking. All incredible partners that really help us make Toys for Tots a huge success," said Nick Cardi.
And people can still bring in their toys through the end of today, and when they bring their toy donation in, they can finish up their last minute shopping too.
"That’s right, in our big stores, we have a huge Christmas tree with some great gifts under them: jewelry armoirs, vanity sets, cedar chests, video rockers, recliners, memory cabinets, so many options. Many people have been coming in and want to give the gift of comfort, and let us not forget the almighty, amazing, super-present: the Cardi’s Furniture gift card! We’ll be open until 3 p.m. tomorrow, so don’t delay: come in and give Santa Claus some help!" said Ron Cardi.
It will be a busy weekend for sure at Cardi's.
"We're very excited for Christmas day! And for us it starts on
Christmas eve, during the day when we visit family in friends in Rhode Island, including Warren Fire Department Captain Vincent Calenda, for his annual open house. It's a gathering of local fire fighters, it's always a festive time, they're great group of guys, so we look forward to that," said Pete Cardi.
"If you remember back this past summer, we signed a contract with Santa for Christmas in July. We need five inches on Christmas day, and the customers who purchased in July through the program will get a refund! We're talking free furniture! And if we don't get the five inches of snow, our customers will get an in-store credit for 20 percent of their original purchase in July, so either way, the customers will win, but of course, we want the snow! So let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" continued Pete.
Cardi’s Furniture, DeWolf Tavern in Bristol, and The Rhode Show partnered up to bring The 12 Drinks of Christmas, a great non-alcholic drink guide.
And part of the promotion made it so that viewers at home could submit their own drink recipe, the winner receives a $500 Cardi’s Furniture gift card.
The winner is June Vincent from Riverside, RI with her drink “Holly Berry Cooler”. Congratulations!
