The hottest back-to-school gadgets

(FOX Providence) - For those of you with kids heading off to college, back to school means a lot more than a new lunch box these days.

The Rhode Show sat down and talked with Amy Koppman of Sony to discuss what your kids need when they leave home.

Laptops:

• The must have for students these days is a laptop computer. They allow you to get your homework and assignments done, keep in touch with friends and family and find new shops and restaurants in your new college town.

Cameras:

• Even though most cell phones have a built-in camera nowadays, it is still handy to have the real deal. A digital camera gives you a much higher quality picture with better resolution and more features such as a quality flash and high-definition video.
• There are also blog-models which are specifically designed for easy upload to the web. For those who want the newest features there is now a model that allows you to shoot in 3-D.
