(FOX Providence) - They always say there's no place like home. But many Rhode Islanders don't take the time to travel our state.
"Tour Rhode Island, There's No Place Like Home" is an opportunity for residents to become tourists in our own state. The tour started as an idea from Mrs. Carcieri. She thought it would be great if Rhode Islanders could get to see their state much she like and the Governor did during his campaigns.
While most of the tours explore a specific region, there are also state-wide thematic tours available as well.
The program benefits the Rhode Island Food Bank , as passengers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations.
Mark Brodeur, Director of the RI Tourism Division joined The Rhode Show to talk more about Tour Rhode Island, There's No Place Like Home.
