(FOX Providence) - Autumn in New England is almost here, and for some that means it's time to hit the road and take a fall foliage trip.

This month's issue of Rhode Island Monthly has got you covered from great inns, to great food and more.

Editor Sarah Francis joined The Rhode Show to talk about some of New England's best getaways.

Places mentioned in this segment:

  • The Wequassett Inn, Chatham
    • It's a large, posh resort that's known for their beachy atmosphere, service and seafood.
  • The Camden Hill Inn, Camden, Maine
    • The Camden Hill Inn has a great location that overlooks the harbor and the village. The chef at the inn's restaurant was named one of the best new chefs by Food and Wine magazine.
  • The Study at Yale, New Haven, CT
    • The Study at Yale is a boutique hotel, and was started by a former executive of the W Hotel. According to Rhode Island Monthly, this place is cool, modern and kind of slick.

And for those wanting a bit of a staycation, there's an upcoming salon and spa weekend in Rhode Island. Spa and Salon week is happening the week Sept 17. It's where select spas and salons are offering three treatments, anything from a manicure, pedicure, and facial to massages and eye lash tinting, all for just $99. There's more information on rimonthly.com .

This month's issue also features a story on the birth of a new restaurant, Avenue N, in East Providence. The magazine goes behind the scenes with Chef Nick Rabar, formerly of restaurants including Luxe Burger, Chinese Laundry, and Ten. Nick always dreamed of opening his own restaurant, and managed to pull it off in the midst of a horrible economy, and tough going raising the financing.
