(FOX Providence) - Hunger and malnutrition worldwide continues to be a major problem. But, a local entrepreneur is helping with a product that could really make a difference. And right now it's helping with the devastation in Haiti.

Navyn Salem, Executive Director of Edesia joined The Rhode Show to talk more about it.

About Edesia:
As a new non-profit organization, Edesia is proud to be doing its part to end the silent hunger crisis. Edesia will be producing ready-to-use food solutions, partnering with stakeholders, and facilitating collaborations worldwide. The lead product, Plumpy’nut®, has been revolutionary in the treatment of severe acute malnutrition. In 2008 alone, an estimated 1.5 million children in over 60 countries received the life-saving treatment.
