(FOX Providence) - There are so many things that make you think of Rhode Island during the summer. And one seafood treat in particular is the talk of the Ocean State.
If soaking up the sun is on your to-do list this summer, then grabbing a dozen clam cakes at two of South County's most popular hangouts will find its way on that list as well.
Aunt Carrie's has been a Narragansett fixture for 90 years, and it's the families that have kept the place in business. Both as guests, and employees.
With a great location and a friendly neighborhood feel its no surprise the lines are often out the door. But, its those clam cakes that make the wait worth while.
Just a short walk across the street, another clamcaker is hard at work. And sure enough, the line at Iggy's is always a long one.
Despite having a tiny kitchen Iggy's manages to pump out order after order during the height of the summer rush. And it's that local freshness that has had people raving about them since they opened there doors in 1989.
But rest assured, while there may appear to be a rivalry between restaurants, they are both there for the same reason: satisfying the customer.
