WARWICK, R.I. (FOX Providence) - It's a booming business that started in Rhode Island. And as the company continues to expand so does its workforce. VMS Alarm s, based in Warwick, are looking to hire roughly 70 people in a variety of positions over the next year.

Versatile Marketing Solutions is in the business of selling, installing and managing home security systems. They have been in business for seven years expanding quickly to 12 different states across the country.

It's obvious why CEO Jay Gotra started his business in Rhode Island.

"I truly feel that the people that are in Rhode Island, the quality of people that come out of Rhode Island are at a superior quality," said Gotra.

Gotra takes very little credit for his company's success, acknowledging his employees and all their hard work.

"My people that work for me, my biggest asset is the people that work for me. It's really the truth. I believe that if you have the right people you can do anything."

Gotra is looking to hire people in a variety of areas including administration, sales and promotional reps and customer service.

"We're always looking for good people. We're growing in so many different facets. We're looking at least for a minimum of 70-80 overall people that we're looking to hire, that's our minimum goal."

In terms of qualifications and experience, almost no one is turned away due to lack of either.

"We have people that work here that have high school graduation degrees, masters in MBA of accountant and things like that. We have vast job opportunities that we offer."

So what is the most important thing VMS looks for in a new employee?

"The biggest thing that we look for is positivity in people, so our big goal is we love what we're doing, we love the state of Rhode Island. I would love to give 500 jobs next year if I could, you know."
