Special theme for WaterFire

(FOX Providence) - A LIVE UNITED-themed evening at WaterFire, presented by Bank of America, will light up Downcity on Saturday, September 5th, during a celebration to kick-off United Way of Rhode Island’s latest campaign.

This event features a fabulous torch lighting ceremony at 7:45 PM in the basin and many other special surprises throughout the evening.

Bank of America presents a special evening at WaterFire to salute United Way of Rhode Island’s work in the community. The event will officially launch United Way of Rhode Island’s 2009 campaign. This celebration will rally the entire community to LIVE UNITED to advance the common good for this and future generations of Rhode Islanders. This event will feature a procession and torch ceremony at lighting, as well as other special surprises from LIVE UNITED throughout the evening.

From 7:30-Midnight WaterFire and Opera Providence will bring live opera to the public for free along the rivers in downtown Providence.
