(FOX Providence) - To many, the image of swimming with sharks is a scary thing. But, there is also a growing movement of people who are working to help sharks thrive.
Joe Romeiro of Exeter joined The Rhode Show to talk about how he's working to increase awareness of the plight of sharks. Joe was just honored as "The Best Emerging Underwater Filmmaker" at the " Blue Ocean Film Festival."
Much of the underwater footage of sharks in the documentary was shot in Rhode Island.
